Primordially Pure Vision
The Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche has taught that the problem that we generally face in life is that we somehow overlook the original, pure awareness in our experience. This is based on attachment to and reliance on simply letting that purity slip away and be displaced by fear-based mind operations. The practice of Medicine Buddha, however, uses a kind of mental hook of our usual struggle with illness and ordinary life problems to entice us into using more enlightened mind operations—here, the form of Medicine Buddha. As our mental operations clarify, our experience of all life, even our illnesses and problems become more clear and workable, and we are freed to attend to the ultimate goal of full enlightenment.
